Heartland Looking for Software Developer at Oklahoma City, OK Full Time

Summary

As an Associate Software Developer for the Heartland Developer Experience team, you will support internal and external developers using our SDKs by reviewing their existing code and learning how to answer their questions and resolve their issues through interactions with existing team members. You will review users’ code and provide working examples. You will develop bug fixes and software enhancements as part of an agile team and be responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Your skills will enable you to develop and maintain relationships with other developers. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: creating and reviewing support tickets, responding to support tickets, updating and assigning support tickets, identifying, documenting, and resolving bugs or missing functionality in SDKs, and much more.

Teamwork is an integral part of Heartland’s success. As an Intermediate Software Developer, you will foster relationships with your teammates and work effectively with our organization’s many functional roles, from operations support to quality assurance and beyond.

What will you be doing?

• Assisting and advising internal and external software developers with integrating our payment services into their systems
• Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions to resolve system issues
• Track, prioritize, and manage issues related to SDKs and developement tools
• Coordinating with internal teams in cases where incident escalation is required
• Writing code in at least one of our SDK languages: .NET, Java, PHP, NodeJS, Python, GO, Android, or iOS (Swift and or Objective-C)
• Participate in code reviews, freely giving and receiving constructive feedback.

What are the requirements?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
• 1 to 3 years of experience developing applications in at least one of our main SDK languages: PHP, .Net, Java, Android, or iOS (Swift and/or Objective-C)
• Understanding of Object Oriented Programming and related concepts
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience using Git (CLI or through GUI)
• Knowledge of payment processing systems is preferred
• Experience with WordPress plugin or Magento 2 extension development is a plus
