Overall purpose of role: As an Inventory Controller you will be responsible for ensuring goods are ordered on time and stock levels are maintained in our Distribution Centre. The role will also include elements of customs clearance, forecasting & stock management.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor customs inbox; pass all customs clearance requests to our clearance team & ensure swift turn around on clearance requests.
• Inbound carriage invoice approval.
• Place orders with suppliers.
• Stock availability maintenance.
• Tile load bookings including cost optimization.
• Communicate expected due date information to relevant business areas.
• Supplier performance monitoring.

• Communicate with supplier on production issues.
• Communicate supplier issues to product managers.
• Liaise with accounts payable & distribution centre on all invoice queries relating to deliveries.

• Maintain the Mercia database, forecasts & sales trends.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

• PC Literate with proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
• Excellent administration skills gained in a busy office environment
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and integrity
• Excellent communication and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.

Desirable:

• Experience of using an ERP system such as CORE
• Experience of using MS Access
• An understanding of stock management and / or purchasing
• Previous experience in communicating with hauliers & suppliers to co-ordinate deliveries
