With our premiere collection of fresh cut flowers, plants, and expert designers, we transform everything from an elegant wedding to a simple ‘thank you’ into something unique and unforgettable.
As a BLOOMS Designer, you’ll ensure your Store’s design sense throughout the department, design and execute merchandising programs, and provide superior customer service to increase customer loyalty and sales revenue. You’ll work in a BLOOMS Shop with an exempt BLOOMS Manager.

What is the work?
Customer Service / Sales:
- Provides superior customer service, and a variety of fresh, quality products
- Designs / executes merchandising programs; ensures ‘design sense’ in floral merchandising throughout department
- Ensures accountability for training and delivery of all arrangements in the ‘showcase’ and seasonal collection merchandising
- Designs floral arrangements for weddings, funerals / memorials, seasonal, and day-to-day sales
- Consults with brides on pricing; maintains regular communication through event execution
- Consults on pricing for other events; coordinates flower / related supply ordering
- Tracks seasonal record when appropriate
- Supports tradeshows and outside sales with area venues, wedding fairs in the region, and Corporate floral shoots and projects
- Takes in-person and phone orders; answers customer product-related questions; assists with selections
- Uses suggestive selling techniques that meet customer needs and build department sales; merchandises product effectively
- Makes regular announcements to inform customers of products
– Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards, and department and Store SOPs
- Properly maintains / operates all equipment; cleans / sanitizes display cases and equipment
- Supports Designer training for other BLOOMS departments in the region
- Assists in technical areas as needed
What is your background?
- Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience
- Certification from BLOOMS corporate Merchandising Manager
- Completion of Safety training and Company Orientation (upon hire)
Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B BLOOMS Designer?
- Knowledge of computer systems (Telxon, ACR, label machine)
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Reading and verbal / written communication skills
- Planning and organizing skills; attention to detail

- Function in a fast-paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks
- Work with Customers, staying attentive to their needs
- Constantly* stand, reach at waist, walk, reach overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, push / pull with arms
- Occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, and toxic / caustic chemicals
- Demonstrate the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and push / pull heavy loads
- While there may be exceptions, the measurements noted are generally defined as-Constantly: 5.5+ hours per 8-hour day; Frequently: 2.5 – 5.5 hours per 8-hour day; Occasionally: 0 – 2.5 hours per 8-hour day
