Role Summary
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant and Benefits Coordinator will serve as the initial point of contact for visitors coming to the Highland Ventures Brentwood, TN office. In addition, the candidate will support human resources by managing our benefits enrollment and reporting.
Essential Functions
Greet all visitors as they come into the office and create an inviting environment, offer water or coffee, etc.
Process daily mail, shipments going out and coming into the office.
Order office supplies and other items as needed
Maintain all office equipment – copiers, fax machines and order repairs when necessary
Assist with planning meetings and office events
Coordinate all benefits enrollment (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), supplemental insurance, and Cobra)
Compile reporting including annual census, 1095s and additional requirements to comply with ACA
Serve as benefits expert providing employees with additional information as needed
Additional human resources support as needed
Other duties as assigned

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Physical demands
This is a largely sedentary role.
Position type and expected hours of work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30/9:00 a.m. to 5:30/ 6 p.m. The home office is located in Brentwood, TN and team members are required to work in the office 5 days per week.
Required education and experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Human Resources or a related field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
Organizational skills with high attention to detail
Familiarity with software programs used in this job preferred (i.e. Google Suite and Excel)
