Who is the ideal candidate?

We are looking for a vibrant and imaginative sales manager who is skilled at business development and hunting for new revenue sources. The Sales Manager must be highly competitive by nature and be motivated by a desire to succeed and outperform.

What will I be doing?

As a Sales Manager at Hilton Garden Inn, you will be representing the most recognizable brand in hospitality. The Sales Manager will develop and implement strategies that will increase the overall revenues of the hotel through solicitations, relationship building, and marketing. Working closely with the General Manager, the Sales Manager will:

• Responsible for soliciting new and repeat group and transient business from all market segments through outside sales, phone, and email solicitation
• Gain a deep understanding of the hotel’s existing and potential client base
• Devise new ways to expand the client base through prospecting, marketing, and key relationships.
• Proactively reaches out to organizations, associations, and companies that may require hotel rooms and/or meeting space for conferences and events
• Have in-person meetings with potential accounts to explain the hotel’s unique value proposition and to negotiate future business opportunities
• Network with meeting planners and special event planners to increase bookings for these types of events
• Negotiates designs and implement special group rates for key accounts
• Acts as a pro-active, quota-carrying salesperson that prospects accounts closes deals, and maintains relationships
• Processes payments, apply discounts and often creates key documents such as Group Sales Agreements, Group Resumes, Corporate Rate Letters and LNR Agreements
• Tracks movement of key contacts as they move from one organization or company to another and nurtures long-term relationships
• Work closely with the Revenue Manager on rate negotiations and also ensure proper distribution of room sales across various market segments. Meet with the revenue optimization team to discuss strategy, review reports, and track key metrics
• Report on key sales metrics to management on a regular basis to ensure activity goals are being met, pace for guest room production is on track and revenue is going in the right direction Assist in sales effort and follow-up to the local corporate market
• Meet with key account reps from OTAs (Online Travel Agency)
• Develop all aspects of room production within accounts

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Two (2) years as a Sales Manager within the Hotel industry with a proven track record of achieving room and revenue goals
• Experience with group sales and business transient segment
• Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business, Sales, Marketing
• Must have the flexibility to incorporate travel, evening and weekend work into their lifestyle; must have valid driver’s license and vehicle
• Demonstrated ability with regard to computer skills, including an intermediate level of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet and database applications. Experience using Hilton OnQ brand applications is an asset
