Hiring for Administrative Assistant Job at Burlington Full Time

This is a full-time, thirty-seven and one half (37.5) hour per week position with duties effective immediately.

LOCATION: School Services, Catholic Education Centre
EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately
SALARY: Band 3 ($62,834.00 per annum)

JOB SUMMARY:

The position provides secretarial and technical assistance to the Superintendent. The Administrative Assistant acts as an intermediary and liaison between the general public, Board Staff, Staff from other Boards, community partners, and Ministry Officials. The successful candidate must be able to operate with considerable independence and self-initiative, function in a very demanding working environment involving a high level of stress to assist with the Superintendent’s duties.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
Secretarial and administrative experience (at an advanced level) with the ability to work independently, in strict confidence, and as part of a team in an active office environment.

• Ability to monitor projects and prepare reports, including Board reports and other documents as assigned.
• Knowledge of the Board’s schools and school operations.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent public relations skills.
• Excellent mathematical, analysis and planning skills.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word/Windows, PowerPoint, Excel and other software packages as required).
• Knowledge of School Board policies and procedures.
• Flexibility in work hours, including some evening work.
• Ability to record and transcribe minutes for meetings.
• Capacity to engage members of diverse communities and skilled in a variety of consultation techniques, protocols, and strategies.
