Role

Reporting to the Area Office Coordinator, the successful candidate will be a key member of the Administration Team to provide support in a range of administrative duties to support the Parks’ Cypress District, including:

• Financial administration duties
• Records Management, Accounts Payable, Fleet Management and with the Electronic Payment System
• Point of Contact for administrative support to staff in the Cypress District
• Provide reception and public information services

The successful incumbent will utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills in their day to day work and interaction with staff and the Public. There will be a need to exercise good judgement, tact and diplomacy.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma
• Equivalencies will be considered

Additional Requirements to be successful in this role include:

• Exceptional English language proficiency for verbal and written communication
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, internet); Publisher and PowerPoint is also an advantage

Assets

• Experience or training in Tourism & Hospitality, Administration, Communications, Accounting, or Business and ability to provide exceptional Customer Service
• Previous Alberta Environment and Parks experience and direct experience with Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with the campground operations and/or the area surrounding your park preferences; camping experience or knowledge of appropriate campground etiquette

Salary

$19.51 – $23.56 per hour

Wage employees receive 11.2% in addition to regular wage earnings in lieu of benefits and vacation leave.

• 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
• 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay

• This is a term position to begin as soon as possible and end on or about March 31, 2022.
• Hours of work are based on 7.25 hours per week; 36.25 hours per week.
