Job Description

As an Office Maintenance Technician, you help maintain a safe, functional, and comfortable store environment through the hands-on maintenance and repair of our new and existing stores. Apply practical knowledge to resolve building issues, and assists in new fixture roll-outs and installs.

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:
General maintenance and repairs to building, equipment, and fixtures. This includes painting, handyman, lighting, minor plumbing, and other repairs

Create, track & close out work orders within work order management platform

Communicates consistently with stores, Area Team, and facilities team to maintain effective working relationships

Coordinates schedule of work with contractors, Area Teams, stores, and Loss Prevention as part of repairs and maintenance or Business Proposal project work

Monitors temperature settings, and escalates issues to Facilities Department

Ensures store cleaning is up to standard, and escalates cleaning issues as required

Ensures proper maintenance of electrical room and work area is completed

Ships and receives associated materials

All other duties assigned

Qualifications

Experience in construction, carpentry, building maintenance and/or handyman capacity an asset

Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs

Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items (mannequins, clothing, totes, torsos, etc) for a short distance

Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Proficient with power and hand tools

Ability to effectively communicate to Area team, Facilities team and Store team

Ability to work independently, manage & set own schedule as required by business needs

Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize

Accountable for submitting appropriate time sheets and expenses

Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends

Must be able to take initiative to complete tasks and solve problems

Must be able to travel when necessary to other local stores or other areas outside of their assigned location up to 50%

Understands the H&M culture and promotes it through all decisions and actions taken

High School graduate or equivalent
