• Scheduler/Patient Care Coordinator

We are looking for someone who is dependable, a self-starter with a passion for assisting patients over the phone, and a true team player to join our clinic.

Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8am-5pm, Wednesday, 8am-12pm

The Scheduler/Patient Care Coordinator serves as a liaison between the physician, the nursing staff, the administrative staff and the patient. A strong commitment to patient advocacy, the ability to interpret patients’ needs and must possess the ability to communicate with all individuals in a courteous manner. Uses strong listening, communication and customer service skills to make patients feel valued and respected.

General duties include handling all incoming calls, making appointments, registering patient demographics and insurance information. Pulling voicemails for both scheduling related calls as well as clinical/nursing related calls. The scheduler reports directly to the the Practice Administrator and may be assigned other duties as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for answering phone calls and scheduling patient appointments
• Receives calls and routes to triage nurse for clinical related calls.
• Retrieves voicemails for team including scheduling calls, general questions and clinical related voicemails.
• Capture accurate demographic and insurance information and register the information in PM system.
• Verifying Insurance
• Evaluates and processes all patient requests to become new patients of the clinic according to the provider’s New Patient Policy.
• Copy, Process and send all Medical Records request for assigned provider.
• Scan patient related documents within patient’s chart within EHR once addressed by provider.
• Reschedule patients when provider is unable to come into clinic or takes time out of the office.
• Sorts in-coming faxes and distributes appropriately.
• Assist Triage Nurse with normal result calls to patients.
• Assist with mailing test results and patient letters.
• Assists in training new associates or on-call staff.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings.
• May collect fees such as co-pays or co-insurance.
• Provide patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights. Understands and demonstrates compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• May be asked to help clean and stock exam rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years related experience in a healthcare organization required.
• Knowledge of insurance and preferred.
• Knowledge of clinic procedures and regulatory requirements preferred.
• Proficient computer skills required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 – $23.00 per hour
