Hope Village for Children Hiring for PT-House Parent at Meridian, Mississippi Full Time

House parents work with adolescents who face a variety of emotional, behavioral and/or perceptinal problems. The house parent is responsible for creating and atmosphere of respect, dignity, and cooperation. They must also take and active role in helping residents acquire and practice the skills they need in order to be cooperative, productive, people based on an individualized approach directed by a plan of care. The house parent will work as part of a cooperative and interactive team to teach living skills, take part in cooperative games and skill building. The work is performed under the direction and supervision of a Program Administrator.Major Duties: Interact with youth on a day to day basis.Assists in plannign for those rules,procedures, and general policies which govern the activities and behavior inthe home.Assists in the establishment of schedules fo activities and supervision to account for and protect each child at all times.Participates in, supervises a, and instructs residents in life skills such as: cooking, Cleaning , time management, persnal hygiene and other normal activities related to independent living.Qualifications: Bachelor Degree Preferred or a high shool diploma/GED with experience and specialized training.
