Colt Products & Systems is a division of Aquaheat New Zealand Limited and manufactures louvres, ventilators and other smoke control/natural ventilation products in its Tawa based factory/ workshop.

This role is a hands managing all aspects of the Colt Products & Systems workshop, providing effective and motivated leadership to our workshop staff, to ensure that objectives and targets, quality, safety standards and client satisfaction are achieved.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible to:

• Provide on the job assistance in the manufacture of Colt Products & Systems products (louvres, ventilators, and other smoke control/natural ventilation products) as per detailed drawings or as instructed by the Leading Hand and/or Manufacturing Manager.
• Execute specific trade activities in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ensure that your work meets the relevant quality and safety standards as requested, instructed, or directed by Leading Hand and/or Manufacturing Manager.
• At all times enthusiastically expedite all works in a professional and tradesman like manner to a level of quality that meets current accepted commercial/ industry standards.
• This role entails working as part of a team within our Wellington Colt Product & Systems Workshop to deliver high quality product that meets our project site requirements.

To be successful a candidate will require the following qualifications and experience:

• Proven ability to work with skilled or trade staff
• General trades skills i.e. welding, fabricating, general plant and equipment use within a manufacturing environment
• A willingness and motivation to learn about Colt Products & Systems product range and how these items are manufactured
• Experience with using hand or power equipment
• Current Unrestricted NZ Drivers Licence
