The Intake Coordinator is a critical member of the revenue cycle management team who works closely with other team members, referral sources and patients to ensure individuals can quickly access appropriate treatments. The individual is responsible for overseeing incoming referrals, validating all information, verifying benefits, and receiving prior authorizations from health plans. The individual works with new and existing patients to ensure that all appropriate prior authorizations are in place and remain current throughout the course of their treatments. The individual must have experience in the infusion sector or prior authorization experience. The position is a work-from-home position with the flexibility to work remotely.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Respond to new referrals in a timely manner, including obtaining prior authorization and communicating with our patients and referring physicians.
· Provide patients with their benefit coverage for the infusion service and answer financial questions from patients.
· Provide patients with co-pay assistance paperwork if necessary, according to the program.
· Determine patient’s potential eligibility for Medicaid and / or Medicare.
· Assess potential funding sources (Medicaid and non-Medicaid) for patients and coordinate insurance and private party billings as needed.
· Verify all patient insurance plan(s) prior to patient starting their service with Horizon Infusions.
· Speak with each patient prior to starting services to review intake information and have paperwork acknowledged by patient; provide copies of all intake paperwork to the patient.
· Document benefit and prior authorization notes in the practice management system so any payments can be collected at the time of check in.
· Verify benefits for all Medicaid and Medicare patients at the beginning of each month.
· Obtain all authorizations prior to the patient’s infusion being scheduled and maintain authorizations as they expire.
· Assist clinical staff with any questions regarding payer sources.

Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour
