Job Description
The Kitchen Support position is critical to the success of the Culinary team. Kitchen Support workers work a variety of shifts throughout the day and act as the fuel that keeps the kitchen running smoothly. Kitchen Support workers have broad job descriptions with various tasks to complete throughout the day based on their shift schedule and the time of day. Kitchen Support workers may work split shifts, night shifts, early mornings, and late nights, depending on the kitchen schedule. Kitchen Support usually work 10-hour shifts.
Assisting in the preparation of food items as required
Cleaning tables and chairs as guests leave as per COVID-19 policies
Cleaning high touch point areas on a continual basis during meal services
Stocking Grab & Go fridges with sandwiches, salads, micro meals, drinks, and desserts
Clearing dirty dishes from the dining room and bringing them to the dish pit
Emptying garbage and recycling into communal containers
Responsible for bagging carrots, celery, meat, cheese, eggs, and other products as required
Working with the nighttime kitchen team to assist in wrapping of cookies or pastries
Doing roll ups for breakfast and dinner service
Working in the dish pit washing dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans
Cleaning high touch-point areas in the office complexes as required
Delivery of food items to rooms as required
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Camp experience considered an asset
Previous experience as a bus boy or dishwasher in a high-volume restaurant
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to work in fast paced environments
Good attitude and willingness to learn
Good oral and written communication skills
Additional Information
Kitchen Support work on a rotational schedule.
