This position is for a Reconciliation Supervisor, Payment Team – Government Services with a company located in Ridgeland, Mississippi
Responsibilities: Lead small reconciliation team to deliver daily bank and payment reconciliations, positive pay reconciliations, and void reconciliations to payment leadership; Develop sound logic processes that the team will use to resolve daily reconciliation issues; Troubleshoot any logic or data issues concerning reconciliation process and have ability to resolve these issues by working with data team to fix logic or data; Constantly, look for ways to improve the reconciliation process; Constantly look for gaps within the process and have ability to fill logical voids; Constantly test logic in processes to uncover any hidden gaps that could cause the process to fail; Analyze large quantitative data sets using tools such as Excel to translate raw data into meaningful and digestible insights and build advanced financial models where necessary to validate hypotheses; Ensure all processes are documented by program and training materials developed in tandem with Learning and Development; Map logic for data team so that automated tools are successful; Share information and resources and connect with others to find solutions; Train and mentor team members in data input, use, meaning, and analysis; Produce and direct on data driven projects; Provide support in completing data processing and modification tasks; create and design financial reports; and document packages; Generate reports, store completed work in designated locations and perform backup operations; Communicates progress of projects, problems, and resolutions to payment team leadership; Learn new technology related to payments and reconciliations. This can include new APIs, databases, and systems.
Qualifications: Have experience working with SQL databases and large datasets within Excel; Have experience mapping logic for data or IT teams to deliver streamlined processes; Have experience developing logic with APIs; Have experience with creating Pivot tables or using other Excel functions to streamline reconciliation approaches; Ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines and high client expectations; Demonstrated focus on customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders; Strong analytical, project management, customer service and team-oriented interpersonal skills; Ability to identify and connect seemingly disparate information sources to get a holistic picture and define the problem clearly; Proficiency in structured analysis (financial modeling and/or statistical experience strongly preferred); Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic setting; BS in Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or Accounting; Expert Excel skills (ability to utilize VBA coding, pivot tables, and excel functions to quickly resolve problems.)
