Maintenance Worker
Regular Full-time
Responsibilities:
performing a variety of maintenance repairs and tasks in residential buildings
communicating with members of the maintenance department, other staff and tenants
Requirements:
skill and experience in plumbing, carpentry, painting & dry-wall, electrical work and mechanical systems;
familiar with life safety systems, including fire safety equipment;
knowledge of Fire Code, Building Code, Residential Tenancies Act; and Occupational Health & Safety Act;
good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and residents;
organizational skills to schedule priorities, make adjustments for emergencies, and see work through to completion;
administrative skills to maintain records, using Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel), Yardi Voyager Work Order system, and to enter worked Time & Attendance in Information System;
work outside regular work hours, when on stand-by in rotation of on-call service roster;
adhere to practices and procedures of Occupational Health & Safety;
valid Driver’s license and access to an appropriately insured car or van; and
sensitivity to issues of mental illness, poverty, and working with tenants in supportive housing
The Hourly rate is $23.03/hour. This is a bargaining unit position, the rate is as per the collective agreement.
