This role sits in a diverse Privacy Office team reporting to HP’s Privacy Operations Manager. Part of HP’s Global Legal Affairs organization, the Privacy Office leads the company’s strategies, policies and assurance for trusted and compliant digital experiences and personal data use. Partnering extensively with teams across the company from marketing and sales to software and solutions delivery and employee management functions, this team sets the direction and tone for HP’s privacy network. The Privacy Operations team, more specifically, is responsible for the tools and processes used by the Privacy community at HP.
This position is responsible for data stewardship of compliance data managed by the Privacy Office, including assessment results, risks records and inventory details. It is also responsible for acquiring and transforming data to create reports, dashboards and visual representations of performance and risk indicators.
In doing so, the Privacy Operations Data Analyst shall partner with internal and external stakeholders to execute towards aligned goals and objectives, support daily operations, and deploy capabilities to monitor operational performance.
Responsibilities
Initial assignments will consist of the data stewardship and management of metrics for several operational processes in the Privacy Office. In some cases, tasks would be executed directly; in other cases, oversight would be provided to contractors performing tasks.
The performance of basic data engineering work including the understanding of several domain specific data systems and their processes for collecting, storing, and managing data and for maintaining data quality are core to this position.
In supporting Privacy Office staff, this role owns the creation and maintenance of reports and dashboards used to track key performance and risk indicators.
Analysis of structured and unstructured data will be performed to uncover actionable insights, trends, problem statements for privacy compliance management at HP. By creating meaningful visualizations, the Data Analyst will assist to advance effective management engagement and prioritization of actions.
It will be imperative to foster and maintain relationships with key partners of the Privacy Office and their business and technology stakeholders; and when needed, to develop technical solutions independently or with the assistance from others in the HP data science community.
In addition, the Data Analyst will be expected to participate in larger process improvement projects proposed to close gaps or react to regulatory change, representing the requirements for reporting key performance or risk indicators and testing the solutions developed by internal and external technical partners.
On occasion there will be opportunities to lead projects related to process change.
In supporting team development, there will be opportunities to educate peers on data analysis techniques.
