Overview:

Learn and grow within HP’s Marketing Ops organization. Marketing Planning & Ops helps Marketers think, create, do, and deliver HP’s customer experience strategies and big brand/sub brand campaigns. In this role, over the next 8 months, you will be assigned three rotations with specific projects in Marketing Lab and Planning/Operations team at HP. These assignments will be something you will own end to end and grow in your learning and contributions to the team, Marketing and HP.

For Marketing Ops, we are transforming Marketing, especially digitally, through simplification, elimination, and automation how we work. Your role to support this transformation can take several opportunities, from process improvement to data analyst to understand what we can do better, to how to understand a Marketers’ workflow and where simplification, elimination of a process or tool or automation, including RPA (Robotic Process Automation), will be part of what you can help HP Marketing understand, decide, and direct change.

Responsibilities

Specific Details:

• Operations: A new team has been developed to drive dramatic improvements in process simplification and tool automation to allow marketers to focus on their core responsibilities. This new team starts on November 1st. The first rotation for the intern could be to work with the team that is driving the day to day work and identify ways to simplify their processes and take work out of the way they are doing things. For example, are there too many approvals required to get a PO approved at certain dollar levels, could we reduce the overall number of PO’s that we are creating, is there duplicate data entry happening that could be automated, etc.

  Planning: The annual marketing planning process kicks-off in the March/April timeframe. It would be great to have this person get involved in driving the calendar in one or all of the key spaces (Print, Personal Systems or Global Marketing) and working with the teams to ensure that the key meetings and deliverables are framed up and meeting the appropriate deadlines. This is a dynamic and fast moving space, with a lot of moving parts.

  Marketing Lab: Are you passionate about learning, development and training? Or being part of transforming a marketing organization and influencing others’ career paths? Then look, no further! On the Marketing Lab team, we are looking for someone who will help us focus on building and creating custom content that not only supports skill and career building, providing opportunities for external certification but also with customization to take career journeys to new heights for all marketers (Global, Country and COE). This individual will be involved in all end-to-end and technical, project management of master classes, career compass live show sessions and end to end compliance training hack development.

Skills Required:

• Someone with a lot of attention to detail and ability to prepare summarized information. Project management skills are preferred.
• Someone that is able to see the big picture and critically think about how to improve things. An interest in process improvement/green belt certification would be great.
• A creator, innovator, baseline knowledge of marketing, learning & development or instructional design

Education and Experience Required:

University students enrolled in a master’s advanced degree program with a Marketing or Business focus. HP role will be during their summer break (May-August 2022) or between university/college semesters.

Bachelor’s degree and/or 1st year of master’s program completed.
