HP is seeking an experienced, cost manager to own reducing the material and non-material costs of peripheral products. The role includes identifying, prioritizing, working on, owning, and achieving cost reduction opportunities. This person will identify and drive generation over generation material cost reductions as well as non-material burdens. This role is based in Houston, or Barcelona, Spain.
Description
Own all aspects of reducing material and non-material cost for HP peripheral products.
Work with stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and align on material and non-material cost reduction opportunities.
Own and maintain a cost reduction roadmap for current products, reducing material cost generation over generation.
Work with Supply Chain and markets to reduce non-material burdens.
Understand cost drivers incurred during product movement from factory to the end customer, implementing projects to drive them down
Work with the Concept Planning team to increase accuracy of material cost targets.
Working with Concept Planning, Product Management, and Industrial Design to identify and action material cost savings in future and current products.
Anticipate short term and mid-term changes of material and non-material cost
Participate (and drive) Supply Chain saving projects, validating financials, and calculating project ROI.
Support HP inventory optimization (aged inventory reduction, high value excess etc.).
Report progress towards targets, status and help needed regularly.
Own and distribute regular cost focused reports, such as cost dashboard, monthly cost guide and progress towards cost reduction targets. In addition, own driving the numbers in the reports.
Education and Experience Required
University degree in Marketing or Business
MBA or equivalent preferred
Knowledge and Skills Required
Experience with material and/or non-material cost reduction.
Experienced in a function that works with cost, for example, procurement, supply chain, or engineering.
Ability to work in a matrix organization where success depends on aligning diverse stakeholder groups on a common objective then working towards that objective.
Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders such as Procurement, Supply Chain, Research & Development. Product Managers, Concept Planners, and Industrial Design.
Ability to interact with all levels of the company, including senior management.
Guide and influence strategic decision-making
Self-starter, motivated, proactive, curious, and experienced within the accessories market.
