As the BI Analyst, you will be responsible for the support and development of a variety of data models, data extract programs, reports, dashboards and to actively participate in different analytical initiatives in the organisation’s BI environment (MS BI Stack).

As the BI Analyst, you will be responsible for the support and development of a variety of data models, data extract programs, reports, dashboards and to actively participate in different analytical initiatives in the organisation’s BI environment.

This role is the primary SME for the Microsoft BI solution. The role is primarily focussed on appropriate ERP usage, requirements analysis / documentation and support however, it is also responsible for ensuring related technologies and solutions integrated with the ERP solution are appropriately managed and utilised.

The BI Analyst will be primarily supporting Microsoft BI systems

• MS SQL Server
• MS SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
• Power BI or other similar data visualisation tools.

Role Dimension

• Day to day BI BAU support, i.e. data load monitoring, defect resolution, etc.
• Build and support different ETL jobs and programs
• Day to day engagement with business users with respect to various BI and reporting related activities
• Develop and support different reports, data models and other BI technical objects
• Work closely with the business users to understand various reporting requirements in particular relating to Sales and Order processing, Procurement, Inventory and Stock management or Commercial Finance – Revenue, budget analysis.
• Build, lead, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Skills Required

• Business Intelligence design and implementation using Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and Power BI)
• Ideally SQL Server 2016 experience
• Power BI / Excel BI using tabular models, Power Pivot, Power BI Desktop & Power query
• SSAS tabular data model design, optimisation and query using DAX
• Experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and cloud data applications (Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL DB/DW, Data Lake) – highly regarded
• SSIS design and development of ETL workflows, SSIS automation using C# and BIML or similar
• Complex MDX scripting
• MOLAP, ROLAP
• Data modelling: Data Vault 1/2, Dimensional/Kimball, 3NF/Inmon or similar
• Experience using Big Data tools (e.g. Kafka, S3, data lake, Python, R) – Highly desirable
• Exposure to SAP S4/HANA – Desirable but not mandatory
• Experience in Manufacturing, Retail or FMCG
• Tertiary Qualification, Diploma in IT or Business.
• Proven track record working in a similar environment
• Current Australian driver’s license and vehicle
• Flexible work arrangements, ability to perform some of the role remotely however on occasions will be required to travel to regional sites.
