The Rental Equipment Yard Manager will ensure the rental readiness of the Rental fleet. This includes managing the equipment flow process after a rental is complete, ensuring the equipment yard is well organized, working with Parts and Shop Service Departments to ensure machines are repaired in a timely fashion, prioritizing repairs based on demand and making sure all safety policies and procedures are followed as required by the Safety Department.
Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
Essential Job Duties:
Ensure the Rental Equipment is rental ready:
Prioritize equipment returned off rent and ensure inspection process is completed
Develop priority list for repairs needed
Make Repair decisions based on diagnosis of Service Department or Rental employee
Monitor Rental PM Process for equipment that comes off rent
Communicate all customer damage of rental equipment to management
Continually monitor the Equipment Yard for machines in disrepair and ensure they are corrected.
Monitor and coordinate the PM’s of rental machines on the yard:
Monitor the PM due list and make decisions on whether PM’s are needed or should be skipped for machines that have come off rent
Work with the Service Shop on PM’s due for machines on the Yard
Complete all required inspections and site visits for the Safety Department:
Ensure all Rental employees follow all applicable safety policies
Complete all required facility inspections required by the Safety Department
Work with Safety Department on any accident investigations
Ensure all Rental personnel at the branch are following any safety policies and assist in getting inspections done in a timely manner
Ensure equipment yard and warehouses are well organized and free of hazards
Maintain equipment yard organization, cleanliness of rental equipment & assisting with equipment pickup/return by:
Ensure rental equipment is clean and in designated areas
Ensure electric aerial equipment is on charge line
Ensure all items located in the yard and shop are neat and organized
Ensure all L.P. bottles are filled and notify management of defective tanks
Ensure the unloading of outside hauler trucks/trailers completed
Ensure customers are assisted with the loading and unloading of equipment
Ensure the cleanliness of the wash bay area
Continually monitor the Equipment Yard for deficiencies and ensure they are corrected
Other duties:
Work with Building Maintenance Manager on any facility needs
Any other duties assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Experience
Minimum 21 years of age
Clean driving record
Above average communication skills to include: two-way radios, phones, and e-mail
Strong organization skills not limited to: parts, equipment, accessories, batteries, buckets, trailers, etc.
Ability to read and following instructions
Ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness
Ability to self-motivate which is required to stay on track, maintain organization, and make continuous progress
Ability to learn and obtain certification (if applicable) on proper equipment operation on various types of material handling and construction equipment
Mechanical background preferred
Ability to manage and coach subordinates and provide exceptional leadership in a team environment
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
This position will be working at branch facilities mostly outdoors with the potential of traveling to customer locations. The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures. The normal auto hazards will apply. This position will be frequently operating equipment with potential hazard. Appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds on a frequent basis. Must be able to push/pull up to 80 pounds. Position requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing and crawling. Position requires bending, stooping, kneeling or squatting handling/fingering on a daily basis. Position may require driving truck to and from customer locations or other branch locations on occasion. Must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
This position is deemed a Safety Sensitive job for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act and the Louisiana Therapeutic Marijuana Act.
