Role: HR Support Specialist

Job Type: 3-Month Contract (potential temp to perm)

Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Location: Remote, but must be available during Central Time Zone work hours

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Support Specialist to support our client’s People Operations team for a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role focuses on handling sensitive employee information, processing HR data requests, and ensuring accuracy in internal systems. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in HR administration with exposure across multiple areas of HR and be comfortable working with confidential records. Professionalism is paramount, as this role involves managing requests from senior leadership and handling sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process employee data changes, including job status updates, classification changes, and corrections.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in HR systems by reviewing, auditing, and updating records.
• Handle escalated HR data requests, including confidential employee records and executive-level inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
• Assist in troubleshooting system issues in coordination with HRIS and IT teams.
• Support HR projects, such as mass data updates and process improvements.
• Maintain data integrity and follow company policies regarding information security and compliance.
• Provide guidance to team members on data entry best practices.
• Professionally manage and respond to requests from senior leadership, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in HR administration, with exposure across multiple areas of HR preferred.
• Familiarity with HR systems is required.
• Experience using PeopleSoft or Taleo is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (e.g., creating spreadsheets, using formulas, data sorting/filtering, pivot tables).
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
• Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with a minimum 95% accuracy rate required.
