The post holder will lead the child protection officer for schools and provide a clear direction and clarity of how to deal with cases to safeguard the welfare of children. They will keep the Head of Access and Inclusion informed as appropriate and ensure schools are kept up to date with legislative changes including the National Working Together to Safeguard Children.
You will work with other agencies to promote safeguarding and welfare of children and vulnerable adults in accordance with the Safeguarding Children in Education under the provision of the Education Act 2002 section, Safeguarding the Vulnerable Act 2006 and Children Act 2004.
You must have experience of delivering, monitoring, and planning services at an operational level, of undertaking Change Management, planning and implementing new ways of working and of successfully managing activity and performance targets.
A Degree or equivalent level of experience and possession of specialist skills and well-developed knowledge to provide in-depth support to a technical or operational service is essential. You will understand how government policy/legislation impacts on council strategy and services and have the ability to analyse and solve problems with an appreciation of possible longer-term implications.
