A new opening has become available for an Accounts Payable Administrator to join a marine transportation business based in Burnaby! Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the AP Administrator is responsible for the accounts payable function which will include multi-currency, project accounting and inter-company transactions.

Training for this role will take place on-site for the first 3 months of employment before the successful incumbent is eligible for the benefits package. This is a fully on-site role and working hours will take place between 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

A valid Driver’s License and a car will be needed to access the office, onsite parking will be provided.

What You’ll Do

• Facilitate invoice and employee reimbursement approvals.
• Perform coding and data-entry of cheque requests, invoices, credit notes, employee expense claims and corporate credit card claims.
• Works with the Purchasing department on vendor maintenance and reconciling 3-way matching of purchase orders, receipts and invoices.
• Completes weekly payment runs including cheques, EFT, corporate credit card, online bill payments and wire transfers.
• Completes monthly financial closing functions including accounts payable cut-off and expense reconciliations, accruals and monthly reports.
• Assists with bank and treasury administration.
• Other duties as needed.

What You Bring

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Accounts Payable, full cycle accounting or bookkeeping.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with multi-currency, multi-company organizations, project accounting and inter-company transactions.
• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and Office 365.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains and Paramount WorkPlace an asset.
• Valid Driver’s License.
