Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a dedicated, hardworking, customer service focused individual to join the Event Services team as Regular Supervisor who is available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
The Event Services Supervisor is responsible for making the function space visually appealing and presenting the menu offering for the event. This may include linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service. Other duties include oversight of the general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintaining a sanitary environment. This person may assist in scheduling required staff for banquet functions.
Other responsibilities include:
Ability to run banquet functions from start to finish
Coordinate with other departments (Culinary, Events, Stewarding, Sales, Outlets and Rooms) in regards to functions
Supervise and direct Event Services Servers and Convention Services Associates
Conduct pre and post inspections of event rooms
Prepare requisitions, bills, maintenance reports, closing shift and payroll
Conduct pre-service meetings and check in conversations with associates
Prepare and plan accordingly, resetting the event space accordingly
Coaching and counseling employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
Provide guidance to Event Services associates on the floor
The position is a key component in achieving high scores in overall event phase satisfaction

At least 2 years’ experience in food and beverage industry, preferably with experience in Events / Banquets
Must have experience and proven ability to manage associates
Must have the availability and flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays (morning, afternoon and evening)
Experience in a unionized environment considered an asset
Must have Serving it Right certificate
Must have Food Safe certificate
Must have previous customer service experience
Must have strong customer service skills
Must possess excellent organizational skills
Must be able to prioritize different tasks
Must have excellent time management skills
Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, train and motivate a diverse group of individuals
Must have the ability to make logical decisions
Must be able to communicate in professional manner with all levels of the organization
Must have good computer skills
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying a moderate amount of weight
Occasional kneeling and bending
Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
