The following internship staff opportunity has arisen in the Strategic Policy Department (SPD).
JOB TITLE: Policy Intern
12 months FTC

JOB PURPOSE
Working as part of the Strategic Policy Department (SPD), the successful candidate will have responsibility for providing the agency with policy analysis and advisory expertise to support the delivery of IDA Ireland’s strategy. The role will involve the candidate analysing, developing, and proposing strategic policies and policy interventions required to ensure Ireland remains attractive for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
The successful candidate will report directly to the Section Manager, Strategic Policy Department.
The internship will last for a period of twelve months.
KEY TASKS
– To support the Strategic Policy Department (SPD) in providing the agency with a high- quality policy analysis, advisory and advocacy service, particularly in the areas of:
§ Energy
§ Climate action and sustainable development
§ Telecommunications
§ Digital and data
§ Special projects and business support
– To monitor relevant policy developments at International, European, and National levels and to work with stakeholders to ensure that Ireland retains a strong client focused and competitive offering for new FDI.
– To work with colleagues in the Strategic Policy Department (SPD) to research, prepare and present policy proposals, with supporting economic commentary, to the IDA Ireland Board, its committees, and the Government.
– To demonstrate flexibility in undertaking additional tasks, as may be assigned.

Additional Requirements
– Be currently studying for, or have recently obtained, a relevant qualification, at Level 8/Level 8 plus, in a business or public policy related discipline.
– Knowledge of energy, climate action, sustainable development, telecommunications and/or digital would be particularly advantageous.
– Be proficient in MS Office, and in particular have a strong command of PowerPoint.
– Have the ability to work well under pressure and within tight timeframes.
– Be willing to work outside of standard office hours, as required, to meet business needs.
Salary
€22,049 per annum contributory superannuation. (Non-negotiable)
