Example of Duties

• Preparation and approval of documents in SAS and STARS

• Second level trouble shooting- STARS, SAS, etc.

• Experience with budgets, reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis, adjustments, purchasing card and travel express

• Help creating agency wide guidelines and best practices

• Analytical thinker and problem solver

• Communicate effectively with internal staff, vendors, other agencies, etc.

• Ability to work well in a team environment

• Experience creating financial documents and extensive excel experience

• Ability to multitask and constantly reprioritize tasks in a high stress, fast paced work environment

Minimum Qualifications

Good knowledge of:

• Accounting principles and practice

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education or experience using Excel

Minimum Qualification: Please choose the answer that best describes how you have obtained good knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Typically gained by at least four years of professional work experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) OR an Associate degree in Accounting AND at least two years of professional work experience such as an accountant or equivalent. Please list dates and places of employment.

• I have no (0) knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• I have at least four years of professional work experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) OR an Associate degree in Accounting AND at least two years of professional work experience such as an accountant or equivalent.

• I have a Bachelor’s or higher degree THAT INCLUDES 20 semester hours, or equivalent college coursework, in Accounting; OR at least four years of professional work experience as an accountant, or equivalent, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), AND at least 12 semester credits in Accounting, to include Intermediate Accounting I and II.

• I am a current professional certification as a CPA.

  Extra Credit: Do you have at least six (6) or more months of education or work experience using Microsoft Excel to create and modify electronic worksheets; design and print graphs; using formulas and employing build-in calculation functions to perform statistical or analytical calculations? Work experience should be at least six (6) months full-time work of at least 35 hours per week or at least one (1) year working 20 hours per week.
