Mō te tūnga | About the role
We are looking for a support worker who can plan and support with day time activities. As a Support Worker you will be supporting people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy great lives at home and as part of their community. This is meaningful work where you can be creative and make every day interesting in ways that are important to others.
You will be supporting people to access their community and to be involved in a range of activities based on their interests. It is a fast paced role where no two days are the same. You need to be comfortable taking a group of people in to the community, driving a van, managing some challenging behaviour (training will be provided) and initiating activities to get people involved.
While experience is not necessary, a genuine interest in people who have an intellectual disability is a must. If you are an active and creative person, like to have fun with people. This would be an opportunity you don’t want to miss.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
No prior experience in the health and disability sector is necessary, but a strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued. Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
