IM Group Pty Ltd Looking for Electronics Technician – Auto/Industrial at Mount Wellington, Auckland Full Time

The job:

Injectronics, a subsidiary of IM Group, is Australia’s leading automotive electronics remanufacturer and requires a new bench technician to work alongside an established team of technicians in their lab diagnosing and repairing electronic automotive components including all types of mainstream vehicle control modules and sensors.  In addition, IM Group repairs a growing range of industrial components.. The head office lab is located in Victoria, Australia, however the role advertised will the located at our facility in Mt Wellington. The successful candidate may be required to undertake initial training and induction in Victoria at the company’s expense. 

The Person:

Successful applicants will fit into the positive team culture, being energetic and enthusiastic, focused on excellence and efficiency.   An interest in automotive electronics parts as well as general electronics repair experience is an advantage.  The role involves high level problem solving, finding  and repairing faults in customers and stocked components. 

The Skills:

A range of desired skills include:

• Intuitive ability for fast electronic fault finding without the use of internal schematic diagrams.
• Excellent SMD rework skills
• Understanding of basic automotive components (advantage)
• Exposure to automotive diagnostic equipment
• Skills in repairing Industrial electronic control systems.
• Knowledge and understanding in the operation of oscilloscopes and function generators.

You must have:

• Excellent written skills for accurate record keeping.
• Ability to prioritise and organise time and personal workstation.
• An ability to evaluate the commercial cost of diagnosis and repairs.
• An aptitude to quickly comprehend, learn and communicate in order to effectively collaborate with others in the team.
