Immersive is looking for talented cloud developers to join our growing full-stack cloud section. As part of the team, you will help us develop existing and new cloud products that augment the advanced training simulators we manufacture. We are the global mining industry leader in optimising human performance through simulation, and take pride in the quality and innovation our people imbue in our products.

Our current customer-facing cloud products include:

• A data aggregation platform that ingests, transforms, organises and securely hosts data and diagnostics from our simulation products
• A learning management system that integrates our various training offerings (e-learning, VR, interactive missions) together into common curriculums, using industry standard protocols
• An analytical system that looks at trends in customer production, training and maintenance data to draw insights about training and coaching opportunities for customer personnel
• A product update distribution system

Our team also builds and supports a variety of internal-facing analytical & support applications.

What you’ll be doing

In this role you will be working with our experienced, full-stack team to enhance and expand our suite of internal and customer facing cloud products. We deploy on the AWS platform and use modern web technologies including React.JS, TypeScript, Node.js, C# .NET. Our team is responsible for the whole lifecycle, from the AWS infrastructure to the API design to the front-end and Ux, and so we have plenty of opportunities to give our developers variety but also foster mastery and passion in specific areas.

Some of the exciting things our teams are doing are:

• Developing ongoing improvements to the User Experience of our various web applications, including pushing adoption of React.JS across our product range
• Expanding the data we collect from our and our customer’s products, then bringing it together to produce unique and valuable insights
• Developing a consolidated identity management service across our products, supporting social login, MFA and enterprise user directory integration
• Adopting infrastructure-as-code (Hashicorp Terraform) to manage our AWS cloud infrastructure, following best-practice architecture and cybersecurity standards

About you

We’re looking for developers with commercial experience who can demonstrate the skills we need in one or more of the following areas. You will start in your area of expertise and then be supported to grow your full-stack skills.

Frontend Developers (React.JS)

• Good working knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+) / TypeScript for front-end web development
• We use React.JS extensively, so experience with this is preferred but not essential

Backend/API Developers (C# or Node.JS)

• Solid development fundamentals including OO, algorithms, data structures and API principles
• Good working knowledge of one of:
  • Modern C# web development in ASP.NET
  • Modern JavaScript (ES6+) / TypeScript development in Node.JS
  • Modern C# application development in WPF or WinForms

Cloud DevOps or DevSecOps

• Good working knowledge of core AWS infrastructure
• Working knowledge of scripting in modern JavaScript (ES6+) / TypeScript
• Working knowledge of cloud deployment and security principles
