The Department of Chemical Engineering welcomes applications for the post of Academic Administrator to provide an efficient and effective administrative support service to staff and students
Reporting to the Administration Manager & Staffing Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration for academic and research staff within the Department including: placing orders, clerking meetings, assisting with staff recruitment, preparing correspondence, managing office systems and procedures, making travel arrangements and dealing with queries from staff, students and external visitors. You will be expected to work closely with other members of the administrative team as well as colleagues in the Department’s Research and Finance Office.
Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent, with a degree or equivalent desired, you will be highly motivated, with excellent organisational skills, and have the ability to interact confidently with staff at all levels and with students. You must be able and willing to undertake a wide variety of work, so a flexible approach is essential. You will have the ability to prioritise workloads and use your initiative. Previous administrative experience within a large organisation is essential and experience within the Higher Education sector is preferred. You should have strong IT skills including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and Access.
The post is offered as a full-time, open-ended contract and is based in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London (South Kensington Campus).
