As the Director of Marketing Intelligence at Indeed, you will have a direct impact on the business by partnering with Marketing leadership on developing and executing analytic initiatives. You will lead a team of Marketing Intelligence Managers to develop business critical insights and analytics, ensure cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and help teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. Your team’s scope is to execute locally and centrally – aligning with specific marketing teams to use insights to enable better marketing decisions and helping the organization succeed at scale. You will work cross-functionally with key partners across Marketing, Product, Sales, Finance and Engineering to solve our toughest challenges, advocate for high-priority projects, and drive data-driven and data-informed decision making within Marketing.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a hypothesis-driven approach to problem solving, effective quantitative and communication skills, and the ability to take on broad-reaching and ambiguous questions while working collaboratively and cross-functionally across all levels of the Marketing organization. You’ll need to understand both the ‘art’ and the ‘science’ of developing actionable business insights that drive decision making.
Indeed’s Marketing Analytics team is a group of Business Intelligence and Analytics professionals dedicated to ensuring the success of Indeed’s Marketing organization. Our team works directly with Marketing senior leadership to drive optimal investment allocation; measure business health; define key metrics KPIs; and identify trends, risks, and opportunities. We are experts on Indeed’s data and the go-to people for generating actionable insights through advanced analytics by developing sustainable, automated, and scalable solutions that empower analysis throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and set strategic vision and direction for Indeed’s Marketing Intelligence team, ensuring that the team’s efforts are aligned to Marketing’s business priorities
- Partner with data teams across Indeed to develop and execute a portfolio of transformational data initiatives within Marketing
- Develop scalable tools and methodologies for evaluating marketing campaign/program effectiveness and ROI
- Develop a detailed knowledge of the structure and governance of Indeed’s data, as well as the downstream implications of changes to sales and product data on Marketing
- Empower members of your team to grow their skillset and advance their career goals
- Build relationships across other groups within Marketing Analytics (including Marketing Science) to leverage and extend existing analytical research as well as best practices
- Deploy advanced applications of descriptive and predictive analytics to corporate Marketing processes, and stay current on best practices in the field
- Understand your business stakeholders’ objectives, the metrics that are the most important to them, and how they measure their performance
- Create a data-driven culture in Marketing through the evangelization and education of existing data tools, reporting, and dashboards to all Marketers
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements, with the ability to distill/explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Who You Are
- Minimum Requirements:
- 10+ years experience leading Business Intelligence/Analytics teams, including management of Managers
- Experience leading cross functional teams to deliver business value through data
- Track record in building and driving a data driven culture across business units
- Strong quantitative skills
- Ability to scope, plan, manage, and deliver large cross-functional projects
- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Strong ability to coach managers and develop them into leaders, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and comfort presenting to all levels of an organization, including VP and above
- Ability to explain complicated technical concepts and information in a simple way to non-technical audiences, including senor executives
- Industry experience in a report development, data science, business analytics, business intelligence or comparable data engineering role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology
- Preferred Requirements:
- Prior experience leading a Strategy and Analysis function within a Marketing organization
- Experience analyzing high volumes of data for multiple purposes in a dynamic environment
- Experience with advanced analytics, including predictive modeling
- Previous or current Python, SQL programming experience
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau
- Experience with cloud platform data warehouse technologies. E.g. Snowflake

Salary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
Salary Range Transparency
US Remote 160,000 – 240,000 USD per year
Austin 160,000 – 240,000 USD per year
