Index Group Looking for at Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team. This role manages the day to day accounting activities for a 8 to 12 entities. The successful applicant will be confident with day-to-day financial processing and reporting, Debt collection, as well as being able to manage ad hoc work and projects from the management team, Directors and board. 

The Role:

The role is a AP / AR / Daily Bank recons / Gen Ledger Reconciliations along with banking and other adhoc duties.  The role works with a number of well known brands providing services throughout New Zealand.  Ultimately, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of the entire accounting administration process within the ATG Group of companies.  As the Accountant, you will ensure that financial information produced will be robust, timely, and accurate to support the management team with their decision making.

Day to day duties include:

• Processing creditor invoices as statement reconciling for a number of companies.
• Processing Daily Banking and Bank Reconciliations for a number of entities
• Follow up on Accounts Receivable receipts
• Verifies account accuracy through reconciliation.
• Pays invoices after verifying information and obtaining payment authorisation
• Prepares financial reports on all accounts payable / receivable.
• Performing GL account reconciliations
• Expense allocations
• Bringing to attention any irregularities or enquiries and assist the accountant with resolving these anomalies.

Follows internal accounting control to maintain security of information.

What skills/experience are we looking for?

We want someone who is a self-starter, excellent time management and interpersonal skills to work, interact and communicate with people at all levels of the business. 

Prior experience is a must.

Experience with Xero is advantageous but not essential.

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

Be able to handle pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong attention to detail, with a high level of self-organisational and administrative skills
