Location: Minneapolis/St. Paul MN (HQ)
A Network Architect is a highly motivated enterprise-level network engineer with experience in enterprise-class network design, implementation, maintenance and support, with a desire to join our high -spirited, hard-working team. The position offers excellent exposure to the latest network and security technologies from Cisco, F5 and other best in class vendors.
Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework.
Design, implement, maintain, support, and inspect data communications systems that span multiple locations.
Document and diagram network systems, as currently designed and for future expansion
Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
Install, connect, power up, and configure hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and terminal/console servers.
Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects.
Configure, manage and maintain existing networks and solutions including access, core, and edge segments.
Plan, design and implement security systems and their associated software, including firewalls, VPNs and intrusion prevention systems.
Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
Upgrade network hardware and software components as required.
Solve complex problems with many variables, utilizing multiple approaches and tools as necessary
Leverage monitoring systems to proactively identify and report capacity and resource constraints, weaknesses and potential problems before they lead to outages.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
Identify and recommend infrastructure upgrades and improvements based upon industry best practices and the Cisco Lifecycle Services Approach.
Manage relationships with vendors and providers.
Configure and maintain WAN communications between multiple datacenters.
Develop, maintain and update a library of technical documentation.
Manage internal network support systems including DNS, DHCP, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACS, Cisco Prime Infrastructure and various SolarWinds modules.
Desired Background
Experience with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst routing and switching in a multi-site enterprise environment
Experience with OTV design, implementation, maintenance and support
Experience with Cisco ASA Firewalls, including failover/high availability configuration and support
Experience with Cisco SourceFire
Experience with IP address and VLAN design and planning in a multi-site enterprise environment
Experience with F5 BigIP DNS (GTM) and LTM
Experience managing multiple enterprise-level datacenters, including interconnectivity
15+ years of experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies including Spanning-Tree, BGP, and EIGRP, in a multi-datacenter enterprise environment, utilizing multiple routing protocols and route redistribution
Extensive experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols including TCP/IP, VTP, QoS, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and NAT in enterprise environments
Proven success in designing and maintaining scalable, redundant, and highly stable LAN/WAN enterprise-level environments
