Responsibilities:

  • Manage storage, backup and VMware operations and infrastructure systems.
  • Evaluate emerging storage, backup, archive, and DR technologies and translate into solutions that solve business problems.
  • Develop and recommend storage, backup, archive and DR solutions and strategies, based on the analysis of customer business goals, objectives, needs, and existing storage, backup, archival and DR infrastructure.
  • Lead the design, development, maintenance, and enhancements related to the storage and backup infrastructure and solutions including SAN, NAS, , Backup, Archive, storage replication, DR, Cloud storage, etc.
  • Design integration of technical functionality (e.g. scalability, security, performance, data recovery, data backup, data retention, data accuracy, reliability)
  • Support design, operation, workflow and issue resolution for the Storage/ Backup/ Archival/ DR infrastructure.
  • Build and implement the storage/ backup/ archival/ DR infrastructure as designed.
  • Perform maintenance for Storage/ Backup/ Archival/ DR infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, setup and maintain storage arrays and storage/ backup/ archival/ DR related hardware and software.
  • Create documentation and perform internal training/ knowledge transfers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
  • Working experience in storage, backup, archive and DR technologies.
  • Professional certification in related storage industry standards or by Storage/ Backup vendors
  • Experience in storage switches/ directors and enterprise class storage systems, replication, backup and archival products.
  • Technical expertise around storage archiving, tiering, deduplication, backup software, tape libraries, storage & replication protocols, monitoring tools, virtualization.
  • Proven experience in planning, designing, and building high available and scalable storage / backup, VMware infrastructures
  • Experience as a storage and backup administrator / storage and backup engineer
  • Experience with Intel x86 platform and Storage I/O (HDD, SSD, RAID) hardware, Backup, Archive and Replication technologies and products
  • Familiar with object, file, and block storage protocols.
  • Knowledge and experience in enterprise storage virtualization, server virtualization and cloud.
  • Worked on diversified storage like Pure storage , EMC , HP
  • Strong experience on backup technologies like AD protector , Netbackup.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Computing/Telecommunication) or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in industry.
  • Certification/experience with such as Storage Admin ,Backup technologies
  • Cloud computing a plus
  • Possess strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in Cloud or Virtualized environment
  • Certification in TOGAF and/or ITIL will be preferred
  • Strong client and project management abilities coupled with excellent communication, written, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
