ING Bank (Australia) Hiring for Lead Engineer – Web Job at Sydney, Australia Full Time

As a Lead Engineer, you’ll alternatively contribute to one of our squads and work in a cross-tribe role driving advancement in our engineering practices. You’ll lead by example and coach others to develop and test robust, adaptable code that is always production-ready.

We deliver innovative products which are at the forefront of digital banking in Australia and around the World. This product innovation is matched by our admired agile methodology and modern technology stack. This is all underpinned by ING’s strategy, culture and values.

You’ll be at the helm of our engineering teams and play a major part of what digital banking looks like for our customers in the future.

What are you going to do? You will be…

• Responsible in executing futuristic processes and programs that maintains the integrity and performance of ING projects
• Responsible for technical design and code reviews
• Develop innovative solutions to challenging problems / real time problems
• Ensure alignment with proper development standards and coding practices
• Mentors the team on technology concepts and ensures team compliance to best practices for design
• Evaluate risk by identifying development complexity, limitations and impacts.
• Determine development feasibility within identified constraints.
• More importantly, responsible for developing team members, your mentorship is a key for the efficient outcomes

What are we looking for? Someone who has…

• 1-2 years of experience in managing web projects as Lead Engineer.
• Extensive hands-on experience in web technologies: Angular or React, HTML5, CSS/CSS3, ES6, NodeJS
• Lead the adoption of Agile / Scrum practices, methodologies and attitudes
• Demonstrated experience contributing to all aspects in software delivery
• An emphasis on quality and secure coding practices
• Technical leadership in delivery for significant software applications / project
• Strong knowledge about design patterns and development principles
