As a Senior Software Engineer, you will support two of the largest contributing business lines at ING, our Retail and Business Banking tribes. You will develop and automate the testing of robust, adaptable and production-ready code. Our infrastructure and Devops environment is one of mixed legacy monolith alongside new tech cloud microservices. Your smarts and hard work improve the digital banking experience for our customers and teams as well as build on your CV/career experience and options.

From creation of new features and improvements through the tech stack: UI to service layer – we can offer challenge, like minded engineering passion and team support. We look for team members who enjoy taking the lead in self-development and stay abreast of industry trends, share knowledge with colleagues and can make pragmatic design decisions.

What are you going to do?

• End to end software development and full lifecycle of software engineering from idea to working production.
• Building and supporting full stack solutions including DB, services and user interface.
• Design reusable services following Service Oriented Design principles.
• Encourage engineers to become multi skilled in order to limit the number of roles and handovers

What are we looking for?

• Development/software engineering within agile organisations.·
• Demonstrated experience and proficient understanding across the full software delivery lifecycle with these types of tools/platform: Java EE, Spring boot, hibernate, persistent, Micro services architecture, Kubernetes/Open shift, SQL Server.·
• An understanding of varied testing practices such as selenium, API Automation, TDD/BDD, cucumber, TestNg etc.·
• Experience with JavaScript libraries i.e. React/AngularJS/Vue etc.·
• Useful to have that depth of understanding across the delivery lifecycle, e.g. test, mocking, source control (Git), CI, work tracking, defect management
• Exposure to cloud technologies and automation
• Experience in banking / financial services
