Instructional Empowerment Looking for Full Stack Software Developer at Philadelphia, PA Full Time

If so, then the Full Stack Software Developer position with Instructional Empowerment may be the perfect role for you. You will be responsible for designing and implementing critical parts of IE’s performance management solutions – from back-end to front-end – to enhance the teams’ overall output by reducing the delivery time on obligated work while increasing the overall product’s security and operation stability.

The ideal candidate will have a lead-by-example approach utilizing your highly technical expertise to focus on security vulnerabilities and operational challenges that improve code quality and reduce bugs. You will need to be proficient in applications development and SCRUM development methodology to be successful in this role.

Additional KEY Responsibilities & Competencies:

• Contribute to systems architecture analysis, design, development, and enhancement.
• Integrate new solutions into our existing platforms using Java on the Spring framework
• Transition a Groovy on Grails application to a REST API fronted Java service with a Javascript framework user interface (Angular, React, etc)
• Investigate production issues in order to troubleshoot & perform root cause analysis
• Identify and resolve performance issues in web applications and databases using APM tools like New Relic
• Work professionally and collaboratively with a high-performance team to solve complex problems
• Understanding of MVC design patterns
• Strong understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Excellent team skills – communication, organization, facilitation, and collaboration
• Strong work ethic and commitment level to all projects and processes
• Ability to present technical information to both technical / non-technical audiences
• A sincere desire to learn and the ability to learn quickly
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.

Location

• This is a remote position that will be required to work Eastern Time Zone hours

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields required
• Minimum 5-year background as a developer with Java, or Groovy on Grails
• Expertise in the Grails Framework preferred
• Expertise with MongoDB or other non-relational database preferred
• Experience working in GitHub
• Experience working with Elasticsearch
• Experience in AWS offerings such as OpsWorks, SQS, CodeBuild, S3
