We are looking for more great software engineer leaders who can help us push computing capabilities even further. You will be working in dynamic team which develop and apply process and device simulators to find the research path and guide the development of Intel transistors and the process technologies which make them. There are openings in process modeling, device modeling and process/device applications.

As a TCAD Software Research Engineer/Scientist your responsibilities are dependent on the subgroup and will include but not be limited to:

Device modeling. Development, calibration, and support of advanced semiconductor device simulators. Area of expertise applicable include advanced device transport, quantum effects, electronic structure, novel device and memory operation, optoelectronics, mesh generation, C++ software development, software architecture and numerical methods for device problems.

Process modeling. Development, calibration, and support of advanced semiconductor process simulators. Areas of expertise applicable include Defect-coupled diffusion/activation, FEM based stress simulation, C++ software development, software architecture, Numerical methods for process problems, solid modeling, and mesh generation.

TCAD Applications engineer. Creating software simulation flows, developing physical models, and analyzing the fundamental device and process issues encountered in cutting-edge technology development. Working on a team running device simulation, circuit simulation, and process simulation to deliver software capabilities, calibrate models, perform design-technology co-optimization (DTCO), and invent novel devices and innovative processes. Areas of expertise applicable include advanced process or device physics and modeling, applications of process or device simulations to evaluate transistor flows or architectures.

All positions will collaborate directly with the experimental research, process, and design teams to define experiments and present recommendations that achieve the scaling path for the logic, memory, and analog devices in advanced-node, industry-leading products.

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications below to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The experience listed below may be obtained through schoolwork, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must possess a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, or a related STEM field.

• Must possess 6+ months of experience in one of the areas of expertise listed above for each position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of research or thesis experience in the one of the areas of expertise listed above for each position.

• For development positions:

• 1+ years of experience programming in C++ 1+ years of experience in scientific software development, modeling of PDEs, atomistic modeling or in advanced meshing or geometry modeling.

• Publications that demonstrate expertise in such areas as device physics or process physics.

• Experience with device simulation tools such as Atlas or Sentaurus.

• Experience in process or device simulator development.

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or equivalent.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
