About Us

Established in 1984 the Marlborough Research Centre (MRC) is based in Blenheim. MRC works with primary sector groups, research organisations, Marlborough District Council, innovators, and educators to improve Marlborough’s regional economy.

Our role is to facilitate, connect and seed fund locally based industry initiated and supported research. MRC Trust owns two campuses along with a 10 hectare Sauvignon Blanc vineyard. MRC provides world-class research facilities for over fifty-five researchers, wine industry organisations, industry partners and collaborators from a wide range of government and business sectors.

A key achievement for MRC was celebrated in September 2022 with the opening of the New Zealand Wine Centre- Te Pokapū Wāina o Aotearoa, a collaborative multi-stakeholder project resulting in the establishment of a world-class wine research facility.

About this role

The position of Chief Executive requires the position holder to facilitate, promote, develop and expand the core business of scientific research and regional economic development that will benefit the Marlborough primary sector and the greater regional economy.

This is a full-time role 40 hours per week with some flexibility to work from home.
