As our innovative business continues to rapidly grow, we are seeking a full time Quality Assurance Assistant/Machine Operator at our Richmond location. Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Assistant/Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and calibrating the metal detector machine, ensuring frozen products are run through, and accurately document the entire process. Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Run frozen products through the metal detector machine
- Assist with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) pre-operation check to ensure no hazards exist before production starts each day
- Safely load, unload, and transfer product to and from conveyors or pallets
- Set up, adjust and re-calibrate machine settings when required
- Accurately complete daily metal detector calibration check logs
- Perform daily metal detector checks at the beginning and end of day, when products change, and every hour for longer runs of the same product
- Commitment to Food Safety by adhering to HACCP and CFIA hygiene rules / sanitary work practices
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Detail-oriented focus
- Working knowledge of machine operation and measurement tools
- Comfortable working in a cooler/freezer environment
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
Hours: Tuesday to Friday 6:00am-2:30pm, Saturday 5:00am-1:30pm
