Certified Ophthalmologist Assistant needed!
$27-32/hr depending on experience
- located in St Louis Park
Position Summary:
Site is looking for Retina Clinic experience.
Provides basic preparation of the patient for ophthalmic tests, evaluation, or treatment ensuring quality patient services.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Essential Tasks:
- Prepares patients and examination rooms for ophthalmic tests, evaluation or treatment. Collects and records patient histories and conducts initial visual testing and screening appropriate to the specific ophthalmic unit such as but not limited to applanation tonometry, Humphrey visual fields, Schirmer tear testing, stereopsis, color vision, external photography, and glare testing.
- Communicates prescriptions and refills to pharmacies and records in patients chart.
- May schedule patients for out-patient and in-hospital surgical procedures ensuring appropriate forms and paperwork are completed and processed, and patients are advised of preparation instructions prior to scheduled surgery. Arranges for pre-surgical and post-surgical follow-up procedures as required.
- Maintains departmental records and files.
- Orders and stocks supplies.
- Soaks, scrubs, packages and sterilizes instruments according to established procedures.
- Sets up surgical trays and assists in minor office surgery when applicable.
- Manage triage concerns as needed
- Performs other tasks as assigned
