Job Description:
As a member of the Marketing & Communications (MarCom) leadership team reporting to the Enterprise Communications Lead, this position directs the strategy for a targeted portfolio of MarCom services and stakeholders. The position serves as the MarCom liaison and consultant to senior-level executives, business partners and department teams.
This leader directs the enterprise communications team, with managers and teams reporting up to the position, and is responsible for the oversight of the creation, implementation and analysis of strategic communications plans, projects and portfolios. This position builds relationships between Intermountain Healthcare leaders and stakeholders and the communications team and fosters a sense of shared ownership of communications efforts along with leaders, business partners and key stakeholders across the organization.
This position is can be performed remotely majority of the time, with reasonable expectation to travel and interact with key stakeholders. Intermountain Healthcare maintains employment registration in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, and Kansas, and will consider employment in these states.​
Responsibilities include:
Directs the communications team in support of enterprise communications initiatives, with responsibility for oversight of the team in researching, writing, developing and implementing communications strategies, plans and tactics.
Builds strong, collaborative partnerships with senior leaders, business partners and members of the larger MarCom team. Example of business partners include leaders and team members within the following departments: Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, Community Health, Equity, Strategy, etc.
Serves as a leadership voice for enterprise communications, helping inform partners of the strategic services communications provides and providing valuable insights and communications plans that serve the needs of the business partner and the enterprise.
Utilizes leadership competencies to build a successful team – develops talent, supports the team in professional growth, fosters crucial conversations and helps team members focus time on meaningful work that is a part of strategic and professional communications.
Proven experience in delivering on multifaceted communications plans in support of enterprise initiatives, such as annual strategy deployment, organizational redesigns, rollout of internal brand campaigns, leadership engagement events, etc.
Provides leadership, guidance, resources, and content oversight of marketing platforms and communication materials (e.g. print, social media, and digital) across multiple communication channels.
Establishes metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of these platforms, materials and channels for reaching targeted audiences and goals.
Manages vendor relationships in support of M&C initiatives, obtaining the highest quality work at fair prices and working with Intermountain Legal to establish third-party contracts when appropriate.
Identifies emerging market issues and communication and marketing opportunities and leads M&C teams to develop the organization’s response.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, English, business or a related college. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution and education must be verified.
Eight (8) years of relevant experience, including four (4) years in a leadership role (i.e. leading a team of direct reports) in communications, with responsibility for budget and policy management. An additional four years of communications experience.
Strong understanding of analytics and research, and their application to developing, evaluating and refining communications activities.
Experience using a wide variety of communications tools and channels in the delivery of on-brand, audience-centric messaging.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines; excellent writing, editing, interviewing, and leadership knowledge.
Experience working independently and effectively without close supervision, while consulting and coordinating with other management team members or stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in communications, public relations, business or related field.
Experience working in communications within the healthcare industry.
Physical Requirements:
Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.
Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulates paper requires the ability to move fingers and hands.
See and read computer monitors and documents.
Remain sitting or standing for long periods to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$56.61 – $152.85
