Learning and Development Manager

Description:

“This position is currently located in the IP organization, assigned to the Sylvamo project, and will be transferred to the Sylvamo organization contingent upon the closing of the transaction estimated to occur 10/1/2021.”

Purpose: manage global learning & development services providing adequate solutions to support capabilities development and to meet business needs.

That includes but is not limited to: global learning & development strategy; management of related processes, system and tools; as well as content creation and delivery; related systems governance; vendor management.

Reporting: Global Capability Development Manager

Areas of focus:

• creates & drives global learning and development strategy ensuring relevant processes, systems and tools are in place to manage L&D related activities including corporate Learning & Content Management Systems (LMS, LCMS)

• introduces new learning methodologies and tools to the organization by establishing the necessary strategy, guidelines and training curricula

• serves as process owner and project manager by leading cross-functional (business partners, Global Sourcing, Finance, HR, IT) project teams as needed in implementing key L&D projects and further development of learning strategies

• works with vendors to create service agreement, contracts, project plans and manages vendor performance against goals

• administers the strategic and operational execution of the global learning services

• develops and measures the effectiveness and impact of tools, resources and systems by designing key metrics to maximize achievement of objectives.

• sets strategy for supporting training developers, training coordinators and end users

• assures global alignment, consistency and sustainability of the implemented solutions interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders and vendors in this respect

• drives creation and execution of global L&D portfolio as needed by the business (including individual, team, leadership development)

• creates & delivers required L&D solutions / program (i.e. training, facilitation) to dedicated audience addressing the identified objectives (including leadership programs)

• provides L&D related consultancy to managers, HR Professionals, and other stakeholder groups as needed to facilitate identification of adequate learning solution.

• builds and maintains effective relationships with L&D stakeholders through timely, accurate, and professional communication.

• leads Community of Practices, as needed to leverage on L&D expertise, collaboration and synergies

• coordinates tracking of learning activities and their evaluation to ensure effectiveness of programs and recommends modifications as necessary

Knowledge and Experience:

• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Learning Design and Development or Human Resources. Minimally: BA or BS degree in a relevant field such as instructional technology, educational technology, organizational development, human resources or business management.

• 5-8 years of work experience with solid career progression in the field of instructional design, training and development or human resources in large organizations

• 5 years management/leadership experience

• Experience managing customer service oriented organizations

• Project Management leadership expertise on large scale initiative

• Content creation and authoring tool knowledge/ experience

• Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management or content- specific certifications – would be an asset

• Experience designing learning solutions for a diverse audience crossing many cultures and languages

• Ability to accommodate periodic overnight travel
