Interwest Construction Inc. (ICI) in Burlington, WA is seeking a professional and dependable Payroll Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience with both union and non-union payrolls and all reporting requirements. This is a “hands-on” position, not a supervisory position. This position reports to the company CFO and is responsible for all phases of the payroll process.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Process a weekly payroll for hourly field employees.
Process a bi-weekly payroll for salaried management employees.
Process weekly payroll taxes for weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.
Process monthly union reports and payments.
Process quarterly tax filings
Process and tracking of garnishments and child support payments.
Review Union Collective Bargaining Agreements and apply correct contract specifics for various trades to new and existing jobs.
Education/Experience
Payroll processing experience and Payroll Tax filing is required.
Bachelor’s degree is a plus, but not required.
Prior union payroll experience is a plus, but not required.
Prior union reporting is a plus, but not required.
Experience in year-end reporting (W2s/W-3 / 1099s) is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Strong technical knowledge of payroll concepts, practices and procedures.
Experience with union agreements, fair labor standards, prevailing wage decisions, and certified payroll reporting.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience with HCSS Heavy Job and Deltek/Computer Ease is a plus, but not required.
Highly organized, efficient, and able to multi-task
Team player and a self-starter
Strong communication skills

Starting salary range is $60K to $80K depending on experience.
