Because of this, we are looking to expand our Engineering @ Insignia leadership team to better support, lead, coach, and mentor all areas of software engineering across the company to deliver more efficient and market leading initiatives for the benefit of our clients.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for providing the strategic guidance of technologies, practices, patterns, and principals that are utilised by our numerous application delivery teams across all areas of the company. This will include the defining of approved engineering technologies and toolsets and their governance with the company.
You will provide training, coaching, and mentoring to software engineers of all levels in all areas to help resolve blockers, complicated implementations, or support issues in such a way that continues to build and uplift knowledge across all.
You will also work collaboratively with delivery, support, and infrastructure teams to provide software engineering solutions, tools, and leadership to enable to delivery of optimal solutions that benefit our clients.
Lead Software Engineers are expected to be the thought leaders in how Insignia Financial builds and delivers quality applications. Your days will not be spent directly contributing to team deliverables, but you will be expected to be extremely knowledgeable in the areas of software engineering important to us, such as languages, frameworks, patterns, and practices. You will be expected as part of the role to remain up to date and informed of evolutionary changes in the software engineering landscape to ensure Insignia Financial remains relevant and informed in their technologies and practices.
A little bit about you
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
- Extensive proven experience in software engineering technologies, patterns, and practices.
- Proven experience in the coaching, mentoring, and growth of other developers.
- Previous experience as a senior/lead/principal software engineer.
- Extensive knowledge of one or more of the following:
- Java, Kotlin, Javascript or Typescript
- DropWizard, SpringBoot, React, or Angular
- Microservice or modern UX development practices
- Event or message-based solutions
- Security patterns, including row-level security
- Fault tolerant and resilient code solutions for distributed systems
- Proven ability to resolve complicated issues using your own resources.
- Experience in generating and maintaining learning resources for other developers.
