About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary team that includes Social Workers, Counsellors, Support workers and Programme Facilitators that work with whanau in the South Auckland area. As the Practice Leader you will support the achievement of Iosis’s vision, mission and values.

Your responsibilities include providing leadership and management for Iosis’ social work and community services, to ensure the highest standard of practice is maintained and is continually focused on effective outcomes for families. The Practice Leader will also support care and protection of children and facilitate a process for greater strength and social wellbeing of families in collaboration with other partner agencies. 

This will involve:

• Providing effective leadership and support around quality practice with a therapeutic and holistic framework of practice
• Provide support, resources and advice to staff regarding child protection issues.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with external partners in the community, including statutory organisations to ensure “voices” are heard 

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Strong leadership skills demonstrated through previous experience in a similar role.
• Solid understanding of issues relating to child protection, family violence, addictions and parenting and family relationships
• Excellent administration and communication skills
• Strong computer skills with previous experience using a database
• Qualification in Social Work or Counselling and current registration with a professional body
• The competency and character to enhance the values, culture and practices of a multi- disciplinary, multi- cultural Christian agency
