The Role:
As a Full Stack Software Engineer in our Superannuation space, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the Acurity software platform used by superannuation funds nationally. The successful person will specifically deal with the Web Interface and related REST API services. You will bring strong front end HTML/JS and backend Java/API skills and have the opportunity to upskill across a range of technologies such as React, Spring Boot, AWS, and others. Acurity is an application widely deployed across Australia, both on prem and on cloud platforms, and this role will support both models.
What you will be doing:

Strong front end skills in HTML, CCS, Javascript and/or Typescript.

Strong Backend skills in Java 8 and 11, and the broader Java ecosystem.

Some experience in React, Aurelia, or other Web UI frameworks.

Some experience developing REST web services, preferably using Spring Boot.

Some experience developing and deploying to cloud platforms such as AWS.

Experience in agile software development methodologies like scrum or kanban.

Familiarity with version control tools such as git.
-
Bonus if you have an eye for design and aesthetics on the web, and good UX design.

Experience with unit testing and unit testing frameworks. Both in Java and Web.

Testing frameworks: JUnit and mockito. Jest and Playwright for the front and E2E.

Strong analytical, problem solving skills and high attention to detail.

Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies as required.
What you will need:

Develop and maintain software platforms in accordance with programming standards. This includes (but is not limited to): HTML, CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, and Spring Boot development.

Ability to build solid working relationships with internal staff and clients.

Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated to meet deadlines.

Design and develop web UI components.

Design and develop rest services in Java and Spring Boot.

Liaise with Business Analysts, Development and Quality Assurance team members to clarify technical requirements and implement the required functionality.

Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues and defects within the scope of Acurity functionality.

Work independently and be self-sufficient, whilst having the skills to work collaboratively with business representatives, development and quality assurance team members.
