Island Health Looking for Coordinator, Registration at Victoria, BC Full Time

Job Description:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Registration, the Coordinator is responsible for management of the patient registration, information and admitting services, and patient placement for a specified geographical area or facility within Island Health. Responsible for maintaining the data collection standards related to person identification and Ministry of Health standards. Provides advice on registration processes and standards to other Island Health departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health information or administration with five (5) years’ relevant experience in the health care field. Relevant experience includes experience developing and implementing processes to ensure appropriate patient placement and accurate patient registration information to support patient flow, as well as supervisory experience.

Skills And Abilities

Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with all VIHA staff and external agencies

Effective change management and problem solving skills

Ability to organize work and set priorities

Demonstrated knowledge of health care system

Strong computer skills with applications such as spreadsheets

Strong supervisory skills
