Island Health Looking for Dev/Ops Specialist at Victoria, BC Full Time

Job Description:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Product Manager, the Dev/Ops Specialist directly or in combination with other Island Health teams, develops and supports innovative solutions at Island Health. This position is responsible for setting dev/ops standards, processes and developing dev/ops infrastructure as application for the Island Health innovation program and collaborating with other development teams throughout Island Health to deliver innovative solutions aligned with the Island Health goals and strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least five years’ experience as a software developer. Knowledge of a variety of modern development and data analytics tools, such as Python, .Net, Javascript libraries, R, relational and non-relational databases. Experience with API development and integration and continuous development environments. Experience using continuous integration technologies. Experience working with Jira. Experience using Cloud based development platforms and tools including Azure and AWS. Knowledge of version control technologies. Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases. Strong knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
