We are looking for individuals seeking to join our team of stevedores at the Port of Napier in the sunny Hawkes Bay. Duties for this role are varied and can include loading and discharging logs, kiwifruit and bulk cargoes, and working shipboard. In addition stevedores perform a number of wharf duties and many of these involve being trained to operate machinery, including excavators, loaders and forklifts.
The successful applicant will be provided a training program which will provide a pathway into operating plant and equipment. No prior experience is necessary as we love to train people with potential but if you do have operating experience this would help you fast track into skilled roles.
The successful candidate will need to be prepared to work an irregular shift pattern in a 24/7 roster.
